Barbara Renehan Obituary

Barbara Anne (Motte) Renehan born March 1933 in Providence, RI died March 8, 2018 in Mission Viejo, CA. She was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Helen (Hughes) Motte. She is survived by her brother, Frederick Motte and sister, Joyce Brassard, as well as her son Stephen Renehan of Providence, RI and daughter, Gail Renehan of Laguna Niguel, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Donald Renehan of Middletown, RI and brother, Stephen Motte of Boca Raton, FL.
Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Rhode Island College where she was both her senior class president and voted "All College Girl." She went on to teach elementary school in Greenfield, MA and Barrington, RI until later changing careers to become a children's librarian. She worked in the children's section of the Middletown Library from 1977 until her retirement in 2009.
In 2010, she moved to Mission Viejo, CA to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Her health began to slowly decline after moving to CA due to consequences of Lewy Body disease, but she always maintained an upbeat attitude and a smile on her face.
