Lillian Bloch Obituary
Lillian Florence Bloch passed peacefully on March 8, 2018 after a fun, love-filled life.
Lillian was born on Cinco de Mayo, 1922, in Massachusetts to Rose and Simon Goodman. She was the big sister to three handsome brothers - Jackie, Chick, and Burt - the source of her lifelong love of sports. She married Willie Bloch – after his many months of persistence paid off - in 1942. They raised three dark-haired, feisty women. The Blochs ran many successful (and some not-so-successful) women’s clothing stores. They enjoyed weekend pool parties and card games at their home in Inglewood. Always looking glamorous, Lillian was even more beautiful on the inside, as all those she knew and loved could attest.
Lillian is survived by her three daughters Judith Bloch, Laura (Richard Rappaport), and Rhonda (Doug Kinn); four grandchildren (David, Jennyl, Alison, and Carin); and six great grandchildren (Avalon, Scarlett, Ellie, Evann, Hatch, and Beatrix) that will treasure their memories with her forever.
A memorial will take place on March 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lillian’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to City of Hope would be a wonderful tribute.
