Ann Peters Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ann Peters (Lafayette, California), born in Fort Worth, Texas, who passed away on August 16, 2018, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Ann hated a brief Obituary and therefore I will quote her own writing when detailing her life since high school for the 50th Acalanes High Reunion. "We made 16 trips to Europe, 4 to South East Asia, 1 to China, 1 to Taiwan, 1 to South America and a few days in Japan. Too many closer trips to count. Our widest range was in 1991 as we ventured as far as Rovaniemi, Finland on the Arctic Circle, and Tierra del Fuego at the bottom of Chile. Some of Ann's dearest friends were met on numerous trips. Sadly, Carl died suddenly at the age of 61 in 1995, yet one week later her pride and joy grandson, Matthew Shannon Armstrong was born. Two of her greatest joys were her witnessing Matthew receiving his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award and his graduation from the University of California. Ann's granddaughter, Sarah Annmarie, came January 16, 1998, and is attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester MA. With a study abroad in Africa scheduled for next spring, Ann's last travels were online fully researching every inch of Africa before she blessed Sarah's trip. Sadly, her son Clark died in April of this year. Ann is survived by her daughter, Caren Peters Armstrong, grandchildren Matthew and Sarah Armstrong, and their father, Peter Armstrong. At Ann's request, no formal services will be held. Donations in her memory may be sent to Contra Costa Meals-on-Wheels, or the Glaucoma Research Foundation.
