She was loved and cherished by many people including: her nephew Steven Walter Kirk; her niece Katherine Louise Kirk; her great-nephew Nicholas Kirk Sampson; her great-nieces, Rebecca Louise Sampson and Sarah Elizabeth Sampson; her stepchildren, John Buchanan Jr., Rebecca Buchanan and Alice Kuhn; her pets, Brondi, Nosie and Bruno; her sister Harriett Kirk (John Buchanan Sr.); her parents, Russell Groth Longley and Mary Temple Longley; her former spouse Jaques Kauman; and her husband John Buchanan Sr..
