He was predeceased by: his former wife Joan Hadden; and his parents, Erwin Schawacker and Gertrude Schawacker (Doswald). He is survived by: his sister Marlene Phillips (Donald); his children, Katherine Walker of Merrimack, NH and Peter Schawacker (Laura Maria) of Oaxaca; his daughter-in-law Laura Hunt Little (Greg) of La Quinta, CA; his stepsons, David Hadden of Durham, NC and Curt Sheller of Pottsgrove, PA; and his grandchildren, Kurt Schawacker (Crystal), Adam Schawacker, Robert Estes, Mason Estes and Maya Kavanaugh.
