It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruben Mendoza Ortega of Hollister, California, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Mexico; his wife Wilma May Ortega of Hollister; his daughter Jodi Gutierrez (Terry) of Hollister; his granddaughters, Taralyn Gutierrez (Dallas Jones) of Reno and Tessa Gutierrez of Hollister; his children, Jennie Lerma, Vera Delsid, Anita Altamirano, Maria Luisa Perez, Cesar Ortega and Louie Ortega; his brothers, Joe Ortiz of San Francisco, Juventino Ortiz of Hollister, Paul Ortiz of Hollister and Jesus Ortega of Santa Barbara; and his children, Robbie Ortega and Angie Ortega. He was also cherished by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
