He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Packy" and Edythe Whalen; and his daughter Kim Velho-Meno (late Archie). He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Whalen (Yocham); his daughters, Virginia Whalen-Alvarez (late Daniel Alvarez), Patricia Whalen-Gonzalez, Jean Whalen and Cindy Velho; his grandchildren, Jeremy Rourick (Cindy), Robert Whalen (Josephina), Stephanie Rourick-Fiore (Paul), Joseph Whalen (Yani), David Dunn, Nyane Gonzalez, Daniel Ray Alvarez (Amber), Derrick Whalen, Michael Whalen (Kourtney), Deana Whalen, Dawna Whalen and Zackery Alnas; his great grandchildren, Jazmin, Michael, Natalie Whalen, Makai Whalen, Casey Alba and Joseph Whalen Jr.; and his stepgranddaughters, Deana and Dana Alvarez. He is also survived by his extended family and cousins, nieces and nephews.
