He is survived by: his wife Lina; his children, Ludgero Alves, Bryan Alves, Sonia Vitorino (Drual), Joe Alves (Lilliana), Anthony Alves (Marlene) and Kelly Alves; and his siblings, Manuel Machado (Mary), Norberto Machado, Maria Peterson (Ron), Iriclia Machado, Elsa Vieira (Steve) and Nelson Machado (Lisa). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 nieces and nephews, and 28 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
