He is survived by: his wife Maria (Tita); and his children, Jose Hernandez (Dora), Mary Preciado (Gerardo), Gerardo Hernandez (Beatriz), Gilberto Hernandez (Hilda), Adriana Alfaro, Lilia Rogers (Jim) and Nora Gonzales. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; his sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
