Danny William Helm (3/2/72 – 1/14/23)
Surrounded by his loved ones Danny William Helm lost his battle with cancer on the evening of Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at the age of 50 in Healdsburg, CA. He was born in Norwalk, California on March 2, 1972, to parents Danney Helm and Brenda Palmer (Nicholson). Danny was an amazing father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and to many others, the life of the party with that humor, laugh, smile & big hug!
Danny was an ASE Master Diesel Technician at Opperman & Sons Inc in Healdsburg, CA where he received multiple certifications & awards. Opperman & Sons also recognized Danny for his achievement, performances & sharing his expertise whether it be with his knowledge or sense of humor around the shop & office. When not working, Danny spent time with his family & friends hanging out at different racetracks, shops, or at casinos, you name it! Danny had a lot of hobbies that were surrounded by the word “fire”, 4-wheeled vehicles, motors (that worked), drinks & girls which made him a fun guy to be around. In the past year, Danny’s adventures included spending time with his daughter & granddaughter at the Happiest place on Earth for Mayci’s 3rd birthday, a trip to Arkansas with son, Justin, to visit with his stepdad, Ted, and family, and several weekends at the racetracks racing a Limited Modified for Furia Motorsports where he finished in 3rd place for the 2022 season. Also to mention, just about a year ago Danny was able to attend the Helm Hawaiian Vacation with his son (Justin), dad, mom (Tammie), all his brothers, sisters-in-law & niece (Savannah). Making memories with family & friends was definitely one of Danny’s fondest characteristics.
Danny’s life will be continued on and survived by his parents, Father, Danney Helm Sr (Tammie) of Manteca; Mother, Brenda Palmer (Ed) of Potter Valley; Stepfathers: Ted Daly Jr of Lakeview, Arkansas, Greg Israel of Nice, CA; Children: Daughter, Nicole Helm of Ukiah, son, Justin Helm of Potter Valley; Granddaughter, Mayci Claire (who brought an extra sparkle to Danny’s eyes every day!); Brothers: Shelby (Sally) Helm of Kelseyville, Travis (Lindsay) Helm of Mililani Town, HI, and Gavin (Lauren) Helm of Henderson, NV; Nieces and nephews: Eryka & Bradly Dale, Savannah Helm; Girlfriend, Tami Ward of Healdsburg; Bonus-daughter, Alexis Biasotti of Healdsburg; as well as multiple aunts, uncles, cousins & a list of friends that where just like family.
Danny is preceded in death by multiple family members, friends & racers. Race in Peace together in heaven!
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Danny's life. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, February 19, 2023 @ 3pm at Redwood Empire Fairground Carl Purdy Hall 1055 N State St, Ukiah, CA 95482.
