He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvira Garza and Baldomero Garza; and his siblings, Arturo, Vera, Abdon, Baldo, Fela and Odie.

He is survived by: his wife Raquel Garza of McAllen, Texas.; his sister Aurora Murillo; and his children, Dan Garza (Sharon), Cindy Soto (Lou) and Diana Turner (Steven). He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
