She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Walls and Helen Walls; her husband Joe "Buck" Mechem; her in-laws, Joe and Elizabeth Mechem; and her siblings, Ronnie Walls and Eileen Bratton.

She is survived by: her children, Brad Mechem (Donna) and Lisa Johnson (Craig); her grandchildren, Savannah Wetzel (Josh), Nick Mechem (Brit) and Dillon Mechem; and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Camden, Cole and Jeremy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Karen Mechem.
