He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Hastings and Gladys Hastings; his children, Steve, Debbie and Mike; his wife Kay; his children, Donna Zoba, Diane Renslow, Debra Hastings, Steven Hastings and Michael Hastings; his sons-in-law, David Zoba and Timothy Renslow; his grandchildren, Kelly, Allison, Ryan Renslow and Christopher Zoba; his brother Jack Hastings; his wife Helen; his niece Penny Hastings; his siblings, Robert Hastings and Marjorie Hastings Prince; his brother-in-law George Prince; and his nephew John Prince.
Coach Don Hastings, who spent 38 years teaching and coaching at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles, died of Alzheimer's Disease October 17, 2018, at the age of 89.
