He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Nearn and Opal Curtis; and his siblings, Burnard, Bill Nearn, Barbara Walker and Bonnie Elsey.

He is survived by: his spouse Jean Sonke; his brother Benny Nearn; and his children, Neil, Bruce Nearn (Cindy) and Lisa Nearn. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
