He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Thurston and Lillian Thurston (Boerma); and his brother Arthur Thurston. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Thurston (Pat) of Rio Rancho, Lee Thurston (Shirley) of Muskegon, Betty Ingersoll (Terry) of Muskegon, Kay Newell (Lee) of Grant, James Thurston of Post Falls, Idaho, Joyce Houghton (Mark) of Mears, Michigan and Kenneth Thurston of Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
