He is survived by: his sons, Richard Medellin Jr. of Gilroy and Paul Medellin of Gilroy; and his siblings, Grace Lazaro of San Jose, Gilbert Medellin (Gloria), Teresa Villasana (Guillermo) of Hollister, Norma Rodriguez (Arthuro) of Los Banos, Henry Medellin of Roseville, Mary Benavidez (Juan) of Meridian, Christina Hernlund-Medellin and Sonia Flores. He is also survived by six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, one-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
