He was predeceased by: his parents, Tayemon Yamanaka and Kikuno Yamanaka; his son-in-law Edward Eugene Hollomon; and his siblings, Miyoko Doi (Sumio), Hideko Ishikawa (Takeo), Sam Yamanaka (Lily) and Hisako Mizota (Fred).
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his daughters, Stacey Yamanaka Sams and Dora Hollomon; his granddaughter Kendra Hollomon; his brothers, Henry Yamanaka (Lillian) and Ben Yamanaka (Helen); and his son-in-law Dana Sams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
