He is survived by: his sister Chrissy; his wife Cathleen (Lulu); his children, Catherine, Martin Jr. (Mia) and Brigitte (Simone); his grandchildren, Sofia, Gianna, Martina and Marco; his sister-in-law Milly Gaehwiler; his nieces and nephews, Marilyn, Heidi, Nancy, John Jr. and Herb; his sister-in-law Chrissy; his stepchildren, Catrina and Catherine; his grandchildren, Brittany, Emily, Charisma, Jackson, Jason and Matthew; and also Sally. He is also survived by his children predeceased him, as did his brother.
