She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Pete Seedorf and Atha Seedorf; her husband Floyd Ruby; her son David Ruby (Patricia); her grandchildren, Stephen Ruby and Cassandra McGuire; her daughter Lorie Ruby; and her sister Patricia Nichols. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's, an organization Shirley felt strongly about.
