He was predeceased by: his son Robert Talamantez, Jr.; and his siblings, Joseph Talamantez, Rudolph Talamantez and Mary Susan Talamantez. He is survived by: his wife Angie Talamantez of Fresno; his children, Oscar Talamantez, Joaquin Talamantez and Christina Aragon of Fresno; and his siblings, Santiago Talamantez, Kenneth Talamantez, Lupe Sanchez of Fresno, Mary Cervantez of Fresno and Sandra Talamantez of Fresno. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
