He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Thiessen (Langenegger); and his sister Leona Friesen. He is survived by: his sons, David, Mark and John Thiessen; his daughter-in-law Kristin Thiessen; his grandchildren, Arielle and Braden Thiessen; and his siblings, Leon Thiessen, Norma Johnson and Betty Graf.
