He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Puffer Sly and Alta Limb Sly; his son Scott Sly; and his brothers, Ned Wendell Sly and Bobby Ray Sly.
He is survived by: his wife Cherryl; his children, Melanie Harris (Byron) and Christopher Sly (Lisa); his daughter-in-law Stephanie Dodge (Dan); his grandchildren, Byron "Jake" (Ashley), Emma, Joel, Lily, Grant, Madison, Loren, Carson, Morgan, Jackson, Spencer, Taylor and Katherine; his great grandchild Dean; his brother Dee Sly (Ellen); and his close friend Tony Shamoon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving in-laws.
