It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lewis W. Fortune Jr. of Fresno, California, who passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Lewis shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Lewis farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Sr. Fortune and Barbara Fortune; and his sister Barbara Leeds. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Fortune; his children, Michael Fortune (Heidi) and Christina Rouff; and his sister Shannan McCollum. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Woodward Park Baptist Church (1801 E Teague Ave, Fresno, CA 93720).

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in his name to Woodward Park Baptist Church, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, or your favorite charity.

“Attended Lafayette Elementary school with a Lewis Fortune 53-56. Cubs scouts at Gary Dodsons Home with Dale Bushey, and Floyd Wilson and a couple other young men. Lost track of them when I when I went to Ft. Miller. Sad to have lost such great comrades of our youth. Sympathy to his family.”
