He was predeceased by: his parents, Maximiana Esqueda and Antonio Ortega; his wife Cecilia Ortega; his sons, Javier Ortega Jr. and Andrew Ortega; the parent of his child Maximiana Esqueda; and his siblings, Joaquin Ortega, Joel Ortega, Cruz Ortega, Mary Espinoza, Annie Martinez and Carmen Herrada.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Ortega, Linda Ortega-Renovato, Rosemarie Ortega and Delores Herrada.
