Gregory Armen Terzian Obituary
Gregory A. Terzian passed away peacefully, and surrounded by his family, at the VA Medical Center in Fresno on January 2, 2020. He was born in San Francisco on May 15, 1930 to the late Isabelle Terzian (née Surabian) and Armen Terzian from Fresno. After spending his early years in San Francisco, the family moved back to Fresno, where Greg grew up among a large extended family.
Greg excelled at sports, particularly as a basketball player at Fresno High School. After finishing high school, he joined the Navy. His naval service included several years as a Hospital Corpsman on the USS Repose during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge in 1953, Greg returned to Fresno and attended college, first in Fresno and later at the University of California San Francisco Pharmacy School.
He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1960, married Marlene Kalustian and together they raised two children, Gregory and Cindy. The family moved to the SF Bay Area in 1966 where they lived for the next 46 years. In 2012, Greg retired as a pharmacist, and he and Marlene moved back to Fresno to be near their families. Greg was passionate about his family and sports.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law. He was also a loyal friend for many others who he met during his lifetime. Greg is survived by his wife Marlene, his wife of almost 59 years, his sister Edna Momjian, his son Greg Terzian (wife Gonda Van Steen), his daughter Cindy Wright (husband Eric Wright), three grandchildren, Brianna Garcia (husband Travis Garcia), Ashley Wright (partner David Aguirre), and Eric Wright Jr., as well as two great-grandchildren, Levi and Kynlee.
