He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L Kersten, Sr. of Fresno and Frances Kersten of Leavenworth, KS; and his wife Jean Kersten. He is survived by: his sister Eileen Sturgis of Leavenworth, KS.; and his children, Norman Nelson (Karen), Cathy Gordon (Pat), Lawrence Kersten (Joanne), Susan Kersten and Mike Kersten (Jennifer). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
