Catalina Cabral De Santiago Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Catalina Cabral De Santiago at the age of ninety-seven. She passed peacefully on May 10, 2023 at her home in Highway City, California surrounded by family.
Catalina was born on January 22, 1926, in Santa Paula, California on the Limoneira Ranch and will be buried next to her beloved husband, Manuel Valenzuela De Santiago. She met her husband in Mexico and were married in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico on August 8, 1942.
Catalina is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Teresa Sarmiento Cabral, her husband, and her son Ruben De Santiago. She is survived by her children Manuel De Santiago, Paul De Santiago, Hector De Santiago, Laura Gomez, Teresa De Santiago Garcia, and Leticia De Santiago Saldivar; her grandchildren Manuel De Santiago III, Miguel De Santiago, Merisa De Santiago Delgado, Melinda Gonzales, Pauline Jaramillo, Mario Gomez, Aaron Gomez, Leigh Anteola, Sergio J. Garcia, Teresa Garcia Safford, Monica Siemens, Kathryn Saldivar, Michael Saldivar, Dillon Griffith, Taylor Griffith; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Catalina will be remembered for her infectious smile, sense of humor and loving personality. Her generosity and kindness blessed all those that knew her. Catalina's love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She was more than a central figure in her home which was her sanctuary. She loved gardening, a great meal and yard sales. Catalina will always have a special place in our hearts and will painfully be missed by her family and friends.
A Rosary will be held 6pm at the Chapel of the Light, 1620 West Belmont, Fresno, CA 93728 on Thursday, May 25, 2023. A Mass will follow on May 26, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Mary's Queen of the Apostle, 4636 W Dakota Ave, Fresno, CA 93722, and the interment at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
