He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barra and Anna Barra; his wife Belmira "Belle" Machado Barra (Portuguese Hall); his siblings, Lucille Barra Romano and Ralph Barra; his son-in-law Ronney Phillips; and his parents-in-law, Fred Machado, Joe, Dolores Machado, Tony and Sherri Machado.

He is survived by: his sister Lucy; his son Steven Barra; his daughter-in-law Christine; his granddaughter Isabella; his daughters, Margaret Barra of Fresno and Diane Barra of Fresno; and his parents-in-law, Grace Barra of Fresno, Maxine Machado of Fresno, Mary of Fresno, Louis Craven of Fresno, Richard of Fresno, Carol Machado of Fresno and Dolores Carnahan of Fresno. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
