It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Schelfhout of Freedom, California, born in Appleton, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 18, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Schelfhout and Hilda Schelfhout (Hafeman); his granddaughter Kari Marie Janssen-Schelfhout; his son Keith Schelfhout; and his sisters, Ann Martin (Schelfhout) and Lori Roepcke (Schelfhout).

He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Tara; his nephew Brad DeCleene; his wife Sandy Schelfhout (Van Rossum); his son Scott Schelfhout (Tara); his grandchildren, Logan Maulick, Jada Maulick and Ethen Schelfhout; his son Chad Schelfhout (Monica); his grandchildren, Calvin, Ezra, Joshua, Jared, Carly and Peter; and his siblings, Gene Schelfhout, Don Schelfhout, Jim Schelfhout (Arlene), Joe Schelfhout (Sue) and Rose Reetz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many good friends.
