Drew Christopher Doty Obituary
Drew Christopher Doty was an amazing husband, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, colleague, and friend. He was a young 52 when he passed away suddenly of a heart attack on April 19, 2022 in Fountain Valley California after battling a rare cancer since January of this year. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Joyce Doty (Drew) and his father Donald Judson Doty Sr. He was happily married to his wife, Robin Doty, for the past twenty years and blessed with a sister, Beth Mehlberger, and two brothers, Donald Doty Jr. and Jonathan Doty, and a sister-in-law Cindy Goossen. He also has two nieces, Catalina Eddy and Hannah Doty and, and three nephews, Tyler Mehlberger, Joshua Mehlberger, and Peyton Doty that he absolutely adored.
Drew was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, but spent the majority of his life in Orange County California. He was a systems administrator and computer technician for companies such as Brasstech, UPS, and Hughes Electronics. Prior to his technical career he was a paramedic for over 10 years and he took pride in delivering five babies. Drew enjoyed taking care of others. He was passionate about providing “above and beyond” customer care and being responsive in every job he had. His colleagues, as well as his family and friends, admired and loved Drew for his kindness, compassion, and concern for others. He was a man of solid integrity, and he had a sweet spirit, kind heart, and humble nature. He truly had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh as well.
Drew was also highly innovative, consistently developing new ideas for products or services. He was entrepreneurial, intelligent, and had a natural talent for anything technical. Growing up he loved dirt bike racing and in his teen years he was sponsored by Factory Kawasaki and competed in amateur Supercross races. He loved music, (especially the band Rush), airplanes, gardening, traveling with his wife, nature, playing his drums, and working on his Limelight Innovations home businesses.
Drew will be dearly missed, and no doubt a part of him will remain in our hearts forever.
