He was predeceased by: his foster parents, Leonard Taylor and Gertrude Taylor; and his brother Morris Scrivens. He is survived by: his parents, Catherine Nelson (Baltimore) and Leroy Nelson; his daughter Mary Lousie Yerby-Erving; his nephews, Anthony, Larry and Rodney; his wife Kathy Nelson; his daughters, Tiesha Nelson (Baltimore), Keaira Nelson and Alexis Kerley; his father-in-law James Kelly of Rialto Calif; and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Kelly, James and Tommy Kelly. He is also survived by relatives, Foster Family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins.
They organized different community events. (Hayes Events) then opening their own Que's Chicken & Waffles mobile business and Non-profit 501c (3) Uplifting Youth Foundation for youth.
