He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Freitas and Maria De Freitas; his brother Urban; and his siblings-in-law, Joe Gallego, Charlie Rodriguez, Ella Rodriguez and Velma VanderMeulen.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughter Julie Freitas; his siblings-in-law, Nora Reed, Danny Gallego (Patty) and Ken VanderMeulen; his nieces and nephews, Larry Andersen (Lois), Ken VanderMeulen Jr. (Lisa), Jeremy Gallego (Lu), Paul Rodriguez, Sandra Haskin (John), Joyce Smith (Martin), Terry Ramirez (George), Karen Gascon and Kelly Gallego; and also Herminia Lorenzo. He is also survived by great-great-nieces and nephews.
