Hiroko Gioia Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hiroko Gioia of Fairfield, California, who passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fumiyo Kimura and Umeko; her half-brother Kazuo; and her cousin Marjorie. She is survived by: her husband Marcellino; her children, Marc (Duncan), Chris, Anna and Ken; her grandchildren, Isaac, Isabella, Anthony, Angelina, Zoe, Nikko, Emma and Milo; her sister Machiko; and also Amy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
On many occasions, Guranma would be caught slyly passing "okane" (money) to her grandchildren, even up until she could no longer remember how to do so, due to the Parkinson's dementia.
