He was predeceased by: his parents, Mayle Vaughn and Arline Vaughn (Humble); his siblings, Wanda, Sarah, Tavey, Joseph, Julius and Odie; his daughter Sherita Howard; his granddaughter Kimberly Williams; and his son-in-law John Nelson.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Vaughn (Gentry); his children, George Vaughn (Trisha) of Fairfield, Connie Nelson of San Leandro and Cheryl Phenix (Carlton) of Suisun City; his brother Maylee Vaughn of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Joseph Williams, Chelsea Rojas, Alyssa Phenix, Isaiah Benjamin and Justin Vaughn; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Nariah and Niello Benjamin. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
