He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Mendez and Virginia Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Hermelinda Suarez-Mendez; and his children, Carlos, Eddie, Virginia, Patricia, Martha, Francisca and Maria Mendez. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
