He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Jacobs and Marguerite Jacobs; and his sisters, Shirley, Muriel and Sandra.

He is survived by: his wife Nita; his sons, John (Karen) and Dwayne (Miles); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda and Stacey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elmira Baptist Church Building Fund.
