He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Rooney; his daughters, Mary Rooney (Kathy) and Theresa Matista (Tom); and his brother Bernard Rooney (Babe). He is survived by: his children, Patrick Rooney (Kerri), Betsy Adams (Dan) and Anne Rooney; his grandchildren, Matthew (Donna), Molly, Michael Rooney (AJ), Amy Petersen (Scott), Mia, Gina, Alyssa Matista, Andy (Natalie), Martin Adams and Katie Oien (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ben, Joe, Angelina, Jack, June Rooney, Karissa, Dylan, Brianna Petersen, Marie, Gabe, Regina, Luke, Sebastian, Jude Adams and Tommy Oien.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove, The Carmelite Monastery of Georgetown California, The Sacramento Life Center, or Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary.
