He was predeceased by: his parents, Rito Leon Gámez and Maria Mares Negrete; and his sister Herlinda Gámez Moreno. He is survived by: his sister Adelina "Lina" N. Gámez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
