She was predeceased by: her mother June Fanella; her mother-in-law Jennie Piasecki; and her sister-in-law Austine Baumann. She is survived by: her father John Anthony; her daughters, Tracy, Kelly (Bryce Kirchmeier) and Dawn; her husband Eugene F. Piasecki; her siblings, John (Marilyn), James (Jean), Jeannie (Harry Haidt), Judy (Anthony Greco), Joyce (Danette) and Julie (Kevin Sutton); her grandchildren, Grayden, Preston and Hudson Kirchmeier; and her brother-in-law Rodney Baumann. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Now that time has passed since Janet's passing, it allows you to think of happier memories. I do have one memory I think of every time I hear the Carpenters sing "Close to You". Janet was staying at Grandmas house during the summer -must have been about 1970. Janet was sunbathing on a lounge chair with sunglasses on singing along to the song. Being much younger than her I thought she was so "cool". She was cool.”
