Obituary

James Earl Russell (Jimmy) was born March 13, 1945, in Jackson, Mississippi to Robert G. Robinson and Gladys Marie Austin. James attended Lanier High School in Jackson, MS,
On his completion of high school, he joined the United States Navy where he served his country for several years. Upon leaving the navy he moved to Southern California where he started a career in law enforcement. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department and later the County Sheriff Department.
James led a very active life. He was an avid golfer and cherished the trophies from his victories. IT was a life well spent and enjoyed with many memorable and happy times. He was respected and liked by many friends and associates who came in contact with him.
On Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, our Lord and Savior called him home. James was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Robinson; and mother, Gladys Marie; 1 brother, Emmett Austin; 2 sisters, Bettye J. Stiff and Eva D. Stewart.
His memories will forever be cherished. Leaving to mourn 1 son, James Anthony Russell; 1 brother, Robert L. Lewis (Shelly);2 sister, Beatrice Harris (Eddie); sister Lola Austin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. {Special friend, Barbara}
James cherished his beloved bible study group with whom he never missed a bible study in the past eight years.
