She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco Cerda and Cecilia Cerda (Cavazos); her husband Pedro Escalante; her children, Maria Elia Escalante, Pete Jr. and Ruben Escalante; and her grandchildren, Patrick, Ishmael and Romyn.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Vasquez, Gracie Gonzales, Estella, Loy and Oscar Escalante; and her sister Olga Alaniz. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 19 great great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
