She is survived by: her children, Oscar Plata, Leonel Plata, Maricela Varma, Marta Ramirez, Noelia Montanez and Veronica Hanzak; and her siblings, Samuel Tamez, Josefina Tamez and Liliana Herrera. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
