She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ted Hsiao; her grandchildren, Melina, Leilani, Karsten and Meilani; and also, Terence Hsiao and Gregor Hsiao. She was also cherished by friends in Germany where her two sisters, five nephews, and one niece.
