She was predeceased by: her parents, George Klippstein and Charlotte Klippstein. She is survived by: her husband Peter Hernes; and her children, Alexander, Katrina and Charlotte.

To honor this connection, the family is asking that all donations be made to Holden Village in Carol's name.
