He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamerto Sarmiento and Marcelina Sarmiento; and his siblings, Matilde Pena and Emilo Sarmiento. He is survived by: his wife Norma Sarmiento; his daughter Charlene Sarmiento; his son-in-law Marty Schoch; his brother Rodolfo Sarmiento; his siblings-in-law, Lita Sarmiento, Virgie Sarmiento, Arceli Sabale, Conchita Sabale, Amelia Sabale, Rolondo Sabale and Angelito Sabale; and his nephews, Cesar Sarmiento and Rommel Pena. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
