He was predeceased by: his wife Blanca Estella; his mother Bertha Paiz; and his sibling Rene Martinez. He is survived by: his children, Liza Hahlbeck (Dave), Alberto Martinez (Shoshana) and Eduardo Rene Ascensio (Jasmyn); his grandchildren, Bodhi Martinez, Jaiden and Sarabi Ascencio; his sisters, Esther "Marty" Limmer and Beatriz Funes-Houseknechtand; his brother-in-law Leonard Limmer; his nieces and nephews, Vickie Moore, Tracy Brown, Chris Limmer, Edwin and Diane Martinez; and also Angie Roncagliolo. He is also survived by friends and aides as a loving father.
