He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Della Gannon and Howard Sloat; his wife Marie Fettkether; his children, John, Jr. (Mary), Kevin (Julie), Tracy (Robert) and Patrick (Leslie); his grandchildren, Kate, Bridget, Jack Sloat, Sarah, Zoe, Jackson Sloat, Daniel Sloat, Maelauren Hudson, Chase, Brian and Greg Leyva; and his great grandchild Eleanor Hudson.
