He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Venable and Gladys Venable; his wife Sunny Venable; his son Tim Venable; and his son-in-law Don Shone.

He is survived by: his children, Pam Shone and Russ Venable (Melissa); his grandchildren, Dane Shone (Amanda), Tessa Shone (Cody), Kylie Gallegos (Daniel), Jesika Clem (Caleb), Victoria Venable (Jonathan) and Jacob Venable (Maddie); and his great grandchildren, Samuel Shone, Riley Shone, Parker Gallegos, Paxton Gallegos, Evan Clem, Tripp Spruill and Hudson Lawler.

In Lieu of Flowers the family prefers donations be made in Don Venable's Honor to the Rogersville Fire department.
