Kristen lit a candle

“In loving memory of Dyllan H. Mason, I have heard such great things about you and wished that I’d only been able to meet you and know your kind heart. Your father has expressed so much great love and adoration for you , and how forever proud he Was and will always be of you. A great soul is gone too soon; and prayers and thoughts will always be with you and your family.”

Andrew Vietmeier lit a candle

“I met Dyllan thanks to the army placing us in the same unit. We were friends in passing until one day I overheard him mention a video game I played. From that day forward we became fast friends. In his own unique way Dyllan was one of the funniest people I've met, and from the day he left the army I missed be able to just sit and talk with him at the dining facility. We would both complain about the army and then talk about the future. The world seems emptier now.”

Caelan LeBleu lit a candle

“My name is Caelan LeBleu of Lafayette, Louisiana. I was friends with Dyllan for a little over 2 years. We had never met in person, being that our friendship was only through online means. I can’t even necessarily say that I knew him very well, but we spent many nights among our little online community laughing, joking, and passing the time the only way we knew how. He was a kind, gentle man, and I will miss hearing his deliberately dry, tongue-in-cheek voice making me laugh through the night.”

Nicholas Schmit sent flowers

“Hello, my name is Nicholas Schmit and I have been a friend of Dyllan for what seems like the past decade. I have never met him in person, but spoke and played games with him online for almost everyday since we joined the service. Dyllan was a person I loved as my own brother, he was always there good times and bad. Not only for me, but for the community that we built up online with friends. After all this time I can’t imagine a world without him. I’ve lost a comrade, a brother, and a friend, but more importantly your son. For that I can’t help, but give my heart to y’all. Should y’all need anything Nicholas Schmit 337-962-7744 113 Bungalow Ct Lafayette LA 70508”

Victor Nault wrote a sympathy message

“I didn't know Dyllan as well as many of the others here, but I've talked and gamed with him off and on for a few years, so I have some words to say. He was always friendly but never overbearingly so, always open to doing something or just hanging out, but he was never pushy about anything. Also, I can be kind of quiet in larger groups, and Dyllan, even if I wasn't speaking up, would always be conscious of me and make sure I was fine with everything going on. I'll miss him.”
