He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Reid Bedecarre; his parents, John Pierre Bedecarre and Gladys Griffith Bedecarre; his stepmother Dorothy Hamilton Bedecarre; his sister Barbara Bedecarre Remnant (Neil Remnant); his daughter-in-law Jill Cogan Bedecarre; his grandmother Sadie "Memo" Ambrose Griffith; and his parents-in-law, Lemuel Albert Reid and Winifred Sloyan Reid.

He is survived by: his great grandchild John Jay Bedecarre; his children, Jason, Justin (Ashley Taylor), Juliene, Jared, Catherine Diane Bedecarre (Henry White), Lydia (Ian Fleming), Andy, Corrinne Marie Bedecarre, Dorothy, Patrick, Ellen, Thomas Hamilton Bedecarre (Maggie Geoghegan), Madeline (Adrien Darchez), Kathryn, John, William Clark Bedecarre (Nancy Garrett), Claire, Ella, Grace, Albert Pierre Bedecarre (Claire Ernst), Sophie and Alden; and his cousins, Michael Murphy (Dulce) and Michelle Bedecarre. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

His Kaiser doctor (and former middle school student) Dr. Francis Nepacena gave their father such personal healthcare right through COVID-19.
